Q: How did you get started?
A: In college I began having friends over my house on the weekends. Every time a night was organized word escaped and before we knew it my roommates and I had a booming enterprise on our hands. Hundreds of kids would show up, and when the demand for dancing became evident I left my outpost behind the bar and hopped on our sound system. Every event was themed and costumes were mandatory- it was all about good natured fun. I never set out to be a dj, it was something that just seemed to fall into place.
Q: What kind of music do you play? What kind of music do you enjoy playing the most?
A: I try not to say I play “everything,” because it certainly isn’t true. I do play a wide range of styles and genres. When playing nightclubs and A|X parties I like to say it’s based around Electro House and Dance.
When it comes to playing lounge parties and fashion events I love using chill house, latin jazz/samba, and really cool contemporary takes on big band/swing tracks. However, when primetime hits at a club or concert I love taking the crowd somewhere they’ve never been with hard-hitting hip hop influenced electro.
Q: ow would you describe your personal look/style?
A: Bold. I love colorful outfits. I take pride in my wardrobe and especially my knowledge of the finer points of men’s style. I always think you should have fun with what you do - the devious is in the details.
Q: How did you get where you are?
A: I am always working. It could be described as a 24/7 infatuation. I’m always looking for great new music, forgotten pleasantries, and studying the styles and techniques of others that are also so musically inclined. Support from my friends and peers, and hard work recognized by great individuals who avidly encourage success for those around them.
